New Transport Secretary Douglas Alexander looks very youthful, and it looks like he's going to be a bit more interesting than Alastair Darling, with a rising profile lately due to his stern warnings since the transatlantic plane terrorist story broke. He's also showing more urgency about congestion charging than his predecessor. But Stephen Ladyman is still there as Minister of State for Transport and he seems to wield great power in blocking initiatives or fending off queries he doesn't like the look of. He's also got 3 speeding convictions: 9 points on his license.
